Gwen : Female Gwen: Female, part Border Collie, part hunting dog, born 1998, medium/large

Gwen was a dog without a name, attached her whole life to a tree in a yard in the midst of thirty-odd other sad souls of the same type, no doubt from the same family, part Border Collie and part hunting dog, all black and white … Litters all her life, despite the chain being too short … arrival at APAA by chance, with her puppy, to give them a chance of surviving … to know another life … And now that she knows, Gwen has no intention of going anywhere to see if the biscuits are better somewhere else … She's found herself a corner under the desk and there's no way she's going to leave it. She does go out to do her business (amazingly she's extremely clean) and then quickly, quickly she rushes back to her corner. The only person who can welk her is Madame Gicquel, whom she'd follow like a shadow if she could … A volunteer wanted to adopt her: she flattened herself on the floor, impossible to take her home. Gwen has found her paradise and can't imagine that she could have a family and hugs just for her … In the meantime, she's the universal mother who cares for all the discarded, more or less weaned pups who are left at the refuge. Though she seems so anxious, Gwen reassures them and ends up finishing their training and socializing them: and it all goes very well. Here's Gwen and her little girl. A laid back dog . Arrived here following a family split . dog's seem always to pay a high price in divorce cases . Nothing much to say about this dog except that he is a very gentle dog , sociable with a total absence of any aggressivity . A good family dog that can live with children - no problem - he even gets on OK with cats .Calm , loving and well balanced and will no doubt adapt quickly to a new home . His calm character would suggest that he would be fine in an appartement but , he would no doubt be better off in a home with a garden .Once acclimatised to his new environment he will become a natural guard dog as well as an affectious new member of the family .
